Thursday 05 May 2005
Corporate communications company, Quadrant has helped to furnish Marie Curie Hospice's new family unit in Penarth by making a significant donation of 1,000.
The Family Unit, which was officially opened in April is now available to accommodate relatives and friends of patients staying at the hospice for long periods of time. Furnished with sofa beds, children's play area, kitchen/diner and bathrooms, Quadrant's donation will be used to help equip these rooms.
Bill Jenkins, Quadrant's chief executive, said: "Marie Curie Hospice, Penarth is a cause Quadrant feels strongly about and have supported for a number of years. We are pleased that our donation will help families using the hospice".
Viv Cooper, Marie Curie's caring services manager for Wales, said: "It is important that relatives are able to get a break from the bedside and the new unit offers a place to do this as well as get support from other relatives.
We are grateful to Quadrant for its continuing support and assisting us in the furnishing of our Family Unit".
