Quadrant Media and Communications has expanded its European operation with the appointment of veteran Irish broadcaster Dan O’Sullivan, who has joined the Cardiff-based company’s team in Strasbourg specifically to service radio and television broadcasters in the Republic of Ireland.
An experienced journalist who spent almost 15 years working with The Irish Times, Dan has extensive experience in reporting on the European Parliament for Irish television and radio networks.
Dan said: “Having already worked in Europe for the last 12 years, I am delighted to work with a progressive company which continues to carve into the European market from its home in Wales. Within the European Union there are a lot of opportunities to develop exciting new projects and report on the ever increasing issues discussed in Europe.”
Quadrant’s expanding international broadcast division already provides TV and radio news to all ITV broadcasters, all Independent Local radio and all BBC Radio stations within the UK from the European Parliament in Strasourg and Brussels, together with CNN World Report, SKY News and Deutche Welle (German State Television)
Dan, author of “Simply… The EU … a guide for the bewildered” in which he gives insight to the European Union and explains its myths and mysteries, added: “I will use my experience to expand the current service into new markets, such as Ireland and look forward to the new challenges ahead.”
Colin Stevens, managing director of Quadrant’s European operation, said “Quadrant is now one of Europe’s leading media and communications companies, providing a range of services to clients such as the European Parliament, European Commission, European Central Bank and a range of private companies and institutions.
“We plan to continue to expand our team with experienced people like Dan to meet a growing market.”
