A successful campaign to raise the profile of the European Parliament and MEPs on UK local radio stations has led to Quadrant winning a finalist place at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards 2006.

Quadrant Media & Communications competed against five other UK consultancies in the broadcast category, new for 2006, which recognised a campaign that effectively uses broadcast media to reach target audiences and achieve its objectives.

This year the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards received a record 724 entries for the 26 award categories, the highest number to-date.

The showcase awards featured some of the UK’s heavy-weight public relations consultancies - with no other Wales headquartered contenders in any of the awards, other than Quadrant.

The Cardiff-based consultancy is engaged by the European Parliament to provide radio news reports and other radio programming about the activities of MEPs and the Parliament to radio and TV stations throughout the United Kingdom.

The service, provided free to all UK radio stations, is supplied from the European Parliament in Strasbourg and Brussels by Quadrant’s expanding broadcast division. The team are also responsible for Quadrant’s output to ITV stations throughout the UK, CNN World Report, SKY News and Deutche Welle (German State Television), with coverage of the activities of the European Parliament.
