WELSH AWARDS MAKE UK FINAL
Wednesday 20 September 2006
The National Tourism Awards for Wales has been voted one of the top events in the UK during 2005, competing with such international spectaculars as the Cannes Film Festival and the London Olympics 2012.
The event, organised by Cardiff-based corporate communications company Quadrant, on behalf of the Wales Tourist Board, was a finalist in the travel, tourism and leisure activity category at the 2006 Event Awards, held this week in London.
The Event Awards honour proven effectiveness and creativity in the exhibitions and live events industry and are firmly established as the industry's most prestigious accolades.
Said Bill Jenkins, Quadrant’s chief executive: “What an honour to be grouped with some of the most high profile events of the year. The National Tourism Awards is a truly spectacular event and Quadrant is indebted to its client – the former Wales Tourist Board – who allowed us to deploy all our creativity and enthusiasm in order to produce an awards ceremony that was acclaimed by all who attended”.
Quadrant was the only Welsh company and the Tourism Awards the only Welsh event to be short listed.
