Prestigious training award for BandA
A leading firm of South Wales accountants has become one of only a handful of practices in the UK to have achieved the highest level of excellence for the training support they give to their new recruits.
Broomfield & Alexander, which employs over 70 staff in Cardiff and Newport servicing some 4,000 clients, has been certified as a Platinum employer by the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in its Approved Employer programme.
The award follows another success earlier this year, when one of the company’s accounts trainees, Heather Jones-Hughes, beat almost 6,500 other students across the world to become a joint Gold Medal winner for achieving one of the top scores worldwide in her qualifying exams for the Association.
The Approved Employer programme recognises excellence in the provision of training support to ACCA trainees and members in the workplace. Employers are required to meet a number of best practice statements relating to the support they provide in order to qualify for three levels of approval – silver, gold and platinum.
Broomfield & Alexander director with responsibility for training, Steve Bickerton, said he was very proud to have achieved the prestigious award.
“We have traditionally invested considerable effort in the developing our trainees and new employees – they are the lifeblood of our business,” he said. “Credit goes to all those members of staff who help in this process and make Broomfield & Alexander a successful business and an exciting place to work.”
