Merger takes BandA turnover to over £5m
South Wales professional advisors Broomfield & Alexander has created the largest independent chartered accountancy firm in Wales through a merger with a Swansea practice to create a business with a turnover in excess of £5m.
The merger with Griffith and Miles means Broomfield & Alexander now employs 90 staff and adds an office on the Swansea Enterprise Park to its current offices in Cardiff and Newport, making it the only practice with offices in each of the three cities of South Wales.
The deal is part of an expansion phase for the company, which recently confirmed that it has acquired land at Cardiff Gate Business Park to build a bespoke 10,000 sq ft office during this year.
The expanded firm will be able to bring an even wider range of professional expertise to bear for its clients, including specialist accounting, audit and tax advice, corporate finance and advice on business growth and development.
“Our strategy has created a firm which is big enough to give business owners the increasingly specialist advice they need, whilst still delivering the strong partner-led relationships which they want from their local accountants,” said Broomfield & Alexander managing director Robert Preece.
“Being an integral part of the client’s team will remain at the core of what we do, and we are delighted to be involved with our new colleagues in Swansea to help them add further value to their existing West Wales client base in the months to come.
“The merger is a key part of our strategy to be the leading independent force in accountancy and professional services in South Wales – offering to our client base of SME’s and corporate enterprises the same range and quality of specialist services as national firms, but with strong local delivery for swift response and accountability.”
Griffith and Miles partner Jonathan Spencer said the merger presented a very exciting opportunity to further develop the business. “The ideal thing about this arrangement is that our existing team in Swansea will be unaltered, and we will be contributing to the success of what is now the leading firm in Wales.”
