NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR MILFORD HAVEN PORT AUTHORITY
Two new members have been appointed to serve on the Board of Milford Haven Port Authority.
The Secretary of State for Transport has confirmed Pembrokeshire county councillor Brian Howells and Milford Haven Port Authority group finance manager Richard Pugh as Board members for a three-year period.
Richard, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, has a background in waste management, and was previously finance director of an unlisted securities market company, working in the UK, France and Germany. He joined the Port Authority in 1995, and is a director of both the Milford Docks Company and D V Howells Ltd.
Brian served in the army and police, and has successfully run a number of businesses in West Wales since the 1980s. He is a member of the Authority’s standards committee and represents the county council on numerous bodies in Wales.
Port Authority chairman Bob Clarke welcomed the two new members. “Richard’s appointment is a recognition of his work on behalf of the Port Authority group, and Brian brings us a wealth of experience gained in both the private and public sectors,” he said.
“Their contributions will be of great value particularly in the development and delivery of the Port Authority’s strategic plan which requires, among other aspects, effective partnership making with a wide variety of stakeholders.”
