GOLD AWARD FOR CAERPHILLY LOCAL HEALTH BOARD
Caerphilly Local Health Board (LHB) has been recognised by the Welsh Assembly Government for the policies and practices it has put in place to help improve the health of its employees.
The Corporate Standard is a Welsh Assembly Government initiative that aims to encourage, support and reward good practice in workplace health promotion in Wales. Caerphilly LHB holds the Gold Standard Award, the highest level that can be awarded to an organisation.
In order to receive the award, the LHB had to meet certain criterion. These include internal communications methods, as well as addressing identified health issues such as occupational stress, smoking, exercise, nutrition, alcohol and substance misuse, men’s and women’s health, first aid at work and workplace risks.
Judith Paget, chief executive of Caerphilly LHB, said: “I am delighted that we have attained the Golf Standard Award. It reflects the importance within the LHB of ensuring that staff health is a priority and that they work in an environment that is not only safe, but in which they feel valued and able to contribute to the objectives of the LHB.”
