GOLDEN JUBILEE FOR BROOMFIELD and ALEXANDER

This year has been full of golden opportunities, with not just the Queen celebrating her Golden Jubilee. Independent chartered accountancy firm, Broomfield & Alexander has had its own Golden Jubilee, celebrating 50 years of providing accountancy services to Monnow Valley Wines.

Monmouth-based Monnow Valley Wines is owned by the Baker Family, who formerly owned the Duffryn Estate in Newport. The business is now run by Peter and John Baker, who took over from their father Ralph Baker in 1979. Grape picking is well underway on the 12 acres of vines before the grapes are sent to Gloucestershire for pressing and bottling. Each year, over 25,000 bottles of dry white, still and sparkling Monnow Valley Wines are sold throughout the UK.

Robert Preece, senior partner at Broomfield & Alexander said: “This is a clear illustration of how an accountant and their client can work closely together to form a long lasting working relationship. I am delighted that we are able to celebrate this special milestone and hope that we can continue to work together for at least another 50 years, although I suspect that I might not be around to celebrate that anniversary!”
