NEW BOOKLET GIVES INFORMATION IN ONE PLACE

A new booklet giving information about health services available in Caerphilly, including details of individual GP practices, dentists, pharmacists and optometrists, has been published by Caerphilly Local Health Board (LHB).

Fifteen thousand copies of the Patient Prospectus 2005/06 have been distributed to Gwent Community Health Council, Local Authority offices, Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO), Health Watch groups, Partnership boards, Caerphilly County Borough Libraries, GP practices, pharmacies, dental surgeries and ophthalmic practices. It is also available on the LHB website – www.caerphillylhb.wales.nhs.uk

The aim is to update the prospectus on an annual basis and there is a section in the current version encouraging people to contact the LHB and make suggestions for future improvements.

Chrissie Hayes, Nurse Director at Caerphilly Local Health Board, said: “We think that people will find the prospectus very useful as it contains information about all the health services in the area. We aim to update it each year and hope that people will take the time to give us their suggestions as to how it can be improved and what should be included in future copies.”
