Ed Rees’s A Levels diary 5

The exams are finally over. I finished my English and Economics examinations on Monday. They clashed which meant I had to be isolated with a member of staff for much of the day, but at least that meant I got the chance to do some last minute revision.

The exams went well, I think, and after I had finished I felt I had given them my best efforts, which is important. It feels so good to have finished finally, with no revision looming and no guilt when I am not working.

Since the exams finished I have been playing a lot of cricket this week and have started to enjoy the usual end of term leavers' entertainments. We had a leavers' party mid-week and then House barbecues last night which has helped generate a relaxed atmosphere around Christ College. Lessons are still going on for everyone else, but those of us in the Fifth and Upper Sixth Form are enjoying a degree of freedom. The Sixth Form are looking forward to the Chapel Service for leavers which marks the end of Prize Day and then our party in the evening afterwards.

I have to admit that I am not thrilled at the prospect of waiting several weeks before I get my results. I suspect that by then I shall be more nervous than I was before my exams, but there is not much I can do about it and I have to prepare for an Admiralty Interview soon which will keep me occupied.
