COCKTAIL BAR TO SHAKE UP AND STIR UP CARDIFF CAFÉ SCENE

A crack management team is set to shake up and stir up Cardiff’s café bar scene by launching the city’s newest venue with an emphasis on top quality food, live music - and high-class cocktails.

The management team of Beatbox Bars Limited, which already successfully runs a major bar in Cardiff and two bars in London, has taken over the former BSB bar in Windsor Place, which will now be re-branded as ‘Buffalo’.

A team of five experienced directors are behind the new licensed café bar, which has been supported in its start-up by professional advisors Broomfield and Alexander, Barclays Bank and Dolmans Solicitors.

Ravi Nalliah from Broomfield & Alexander said there was still a strong market for well-run cafe bars, which responded imaginatively to the demanding professional lunchtime and younger evening customer.

“The demand for late licensed café bars in Cardiff will be maintained at the current level or increased over the coming five years,” he said. “The expertise and experience of the directors of Beatbox Bars Limited means that they will be able to stay competitive in that marketplace.

“The team has a strong merger and acquisition strategy, and we hope to be able to assist them again in the future to acquire new bars.”

Beatbox Bar’s managing director Nathan Vaughan said they would be creating a stylish and contemporary venue.

“This is a prime city centre location for a café bar, and we want to develop a consistent regular day trade based around a high quality food offer, and develop the night trade by positioning Buffalo as a market leader in live events with the best DJ’s around.”

Broomfield and Alexander secured funding providers and agreed a loan from Barclays Bank, and provided Beatbox Bars with a range of support including business planning, cash flow forecasts and personal and corporate tax planning. Dolmans Solicitors provided legal advice.

Simon Davies, Barclays Relationship Manager at Barclays said: “By working closely with the customer and really understanding the business and issues they have faced, Barclays has been able to support Beatbox Bars Ltd both financially and professionally. The refurbishment, location and ambience will allow the business to tap into the lucrative café bar culture and we wish them every success for the future.”

Darren Lewis from Dolmans added: “Being situated just a few doors along from Buffalo, we were delighted to assist Beatbox Bars in their new venture and look forward to witnessing the success of the new café bar.

“All parties worked closely and well together in order to complete the transaction within the agreed timescale.”
