NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR LOCAL LHB

Caerphilly Local Health Board (LHB) has appointed two new non-officer members to its board.

Wendy Bourton joins as carer non-officer member. She is chief executive of Care & Repair Cymru, a voluntary board member of the United Welsh Housing Association and sits on the National Partnership Forum for Older People. Wendy is a former board member of Cardiff LHB.

Hugh Phillips has been appointed as optometry non-officer member. He has lived in the area for 63 years and practised optometry for 40 years, running a number of practices. He is a magistrate and lay justice member of Gwent Police Authority.

Hilary Brunt, David Greville, Colin Palfrey and Allen Williams have been reappointed to the board.

Caerphilly LHB chairman, Bob Mitchard, will remain in post for a further six months while recruitment is underway for a new chairman.
