PROFESSIONAL CRICKET COACH APPOINTED AT CHRIST COLLEGE
A Welsh school with an outstanding record of producing international cricketers has appointed a professional cricket coach, thanks to a sponsorship deal with a Welsh legal firm.
Peter Brett, the current Wales U16 cricket coach, has joined Christ College Brecon to coach the school’s senior cricket squad, which Swansea and Cardiff-based solicitors, Lloyd Williams, have agreed to sponsor.
Since 1986, Peter, from Llanybydder in Carmarthenshire has been involved in cricket development, from grass roots to involvement with senior players. He started working with Surrey County Cricket Club (CCC) in 1990, and managed the Ken Barrington Cricket Centre at The Oval and from 1996 managed the Surrey CCC Cricket Centre in Guildford.
Since 2001 he has been working as a Cricket Development Officer in Mid Wales for the Cricket Board of Wales.
Headmaster, Phillip Jones, said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Peter’s experience and calibre coaching cricket at Christ College Brecon. We have an excellent track record at producing international cricketers, both boys and girls, and I have no doubt that this will be enhanced with Peter’s outstanding coaching skills.
“We would like to thanks Lloyd Williams Solicitors for their support and we look forward to doing them proud with our excellent cricket results.”
Rudi Heinrich, Senior Partner at Lloyd Williams said "We're delighted to be involved with the cricket at Christ College, and the prospect of being coached by Peter Brett has even tempted me to dig out my pads!"
