NEW CHAIRMAN FOR CAERPHILLY TEACHING LHB
A new chairman has been appointed by Caerphilly Teaching Local Health Board (LHB).
Colin Palfrey takes on the role having spent more than three years as a non-officer member of the LHB board, representing the voluntary sector.
He is a former lecturer in the School of Health Sciences at Swansea University and became an Honorary Research Fellow in 2003.
Colin has worked as a research and development manager for mental health charity, Gofal Cymru, and has a special interest in mental health services and services for older people. He has also been chair of Caerphilly Magistrates and served on the bench for 25 years.
“Caerphilly Borough residents have a key role to play in decisions about their health,” said Colin. “The LHB already involves residents wherever possible and I intend to use my experience in the voluntary sector to develop this even further.”
