OILMEN JOIN PORT AUTHORITY BOARD

Two experienced oilmen are joining the board of Milford Haven Port Authority as the port gears itself up for the arrival of LNG shipping at the end of the year.

The general managers of the Chevron and the Total refineries on the Haven join with some 50 years’ experience in the industry between them.

Morgan Clark, aged 52, was born in Yokahama, Japan, and began his career with Unocal in 1977. He worked in a variety of roles and locations throughout the United States, including Alaska.

Following the completion of Unocal’s merger with Chevron, Morgan stayed with the organisation, and was appointed General Manager of Chevron’s Pembroke Refinery last year.

Nigel Tranter, aged 47, is also a recent arrival to the Haven, having been appointed general manager of the Total refinery in June last year. Born in Ebbw Vale, he has been with the company all his working life, and has held a variety of roles in UK and Europe.

Bob Clarke, chairman of Milford Haven Port Authority, welcomed the experience the pair would bring to the Board.

“We look for a mix of skills on our Board to enable the Authority to chart its future successful passage. Knowing the oil industry and its trends is a critical part of that mix, and having two of our most important neighbours and customers working closely with us will be of immense value,” he said.
