Marina Manager Welcomed Aboard
In the latest move in the regeneration of Falmouth Docks, A&P have appointed a manager to oversee operations at the new marina which is expected to open for business next summer and which will be called Port Falmouth Marina.
Drystan Jones previously managed the Ocean Village Marina at Southampton and the Mylor Yacht Harbour Marina in Cornwall. At Falmouth he will report directly to A&P’s Chief Executive, David Ring.
One of Drystan’s first tasks will be to represent Port Falmouth Marina at the London International Boat Show, where interest in the new facility is expected to be strong. There have already been enquiries from potential berth owners. Full berthing details and rates will be published in time for the London show which starts on the 11 January.
Said Drystan: “I am delighted to be joining the A&P team and look forward to the tremendous challenge of helping to create a world class international marina at Falmouth”.
Thirty-three years old Drystan was educated in north Cornwall and is a certified marina manager.
A&P’s Chief Executive, David Ring, said: “Drystan’s role as marina manager will be to ensure that construction, marketing and operation of Port Falmouth Marina exceeds customer expectations. The construction of the Marina is an essential element in the regeneration of Falmouth Docks.
“He has a great deal of experience of running busy marinas and we are delighted that he has joined the A&P team at such an early, but crucial, stage of the development.”
